The National Assembly of Nicaragua has decreed May 30 (celebration of Mother's Day) as a national paid holiday.

The approval of this national holiday is given through the reform of article 66 of the Labor Code, by which the mentioned date is included in the list of national holidays.

With this reform, Nicaragua will have the following 10 holidays:

"The following are mandatory national holidays with the right to rest and payment of salary: January 1st, Holy Thursday and Good Friday, May 1st, May 30, July 19, September 14 and 15, December 8 and 25".
